• Basketball travels to West Albany TODAY for all boys and girls games;
JV Boys 4:15, JV Girls 4:30, 5:45 Varsity Boys, 7:15 Varsity Girls & Freshman Boys. NO JV2 Girls game today!
The JV Boys & Girls and Freshman Boys teams will need to be RELEASED at 2:00 for their bus leaving South at 2:15.
• Swim meet TODAY @ 4:00 at Albany Community Pool vs. West Albany.
Teachers please RELEASE the swim team @ 2:00 with bus leaving South at 2:15.
ATHLETES please NOTE- we have 2 buses that are departing South @ 2:15 both going to Albany. Make sure swimmers & basketball players get on the correct bus as they go to different locations!!!! Both buses will pick up on Rural St. by the gym entrance.

• Softball’s open gym TODAY will start in the East balcony gym at 2:45. No open gym during finals week.

• We want to wish our Varsity Cheer squad best of luck as they compete in their first competition of the season tomorrow at Newberg High School.

• Swim team pictures NEXT Wednesday January 24th @ 6:30 pm at the Kroc Center.

• Students – if you are frustrated by the City of Salem’s new 90-minute parking zones surrounding South, here is how you can take action. We are getting as many students as possible to write letters to the City Parking operations protesting this new zoning. Interested students should see Mrs. August in the Leadership office to get more information.

• If you’re looking for some excitement during your school week, then February 1st, we’ve got it covered! Join us in the gym for an incredible performance put on by ASA Entertainment. Watch top athletes perform right here in OUR gym all while learning valuable information about bullying prevention. It’s also a chance to win great prizes by knowing your bullying facts!

• Students have notified the ASPIRE Center that a workshop is being held at the Red Lion Inn this coming weekend, offering information on college admissions and financial aid. Please be aware that many students and parents in past years have reported problems related to services offered as part of this event, and that this type of information is offered free by South’s ASPIRE Center and our professional school counselors. Be a smart consumer!

• There is a Health Fair this Saturday, January 20th from 11am-3pm at the Kroc Community Center. This is a FREE community event and there will be multiple free health screenings including: free flu shots, blood pressure screening, bone density screenings, glucose screening and chiropractic/medical massage. Participants will also receive a free day pass to the Kroc Center for the day of the event and can sign up for a membership the registration fee is waived for that day! If you are interested in more information, come to the Main office for facebook event info.

• REMINDER: 1st Semester finals start next Tuesday, January 23rd periods 1, 2 & 3; Wednesday, January 24th periods 5, 6 & 7 & Thursday, January 25th periods 4 & 8.
Buses will depart @ 1pm on Tuesday & Wednesday and 11am on Thursday NEXT WEEK with NO SCHOOL on Friday, January 26th for Semester Grading.
