DECA Nationals



South Salem sent 40 students to compete at the DECA International Career Development conference this past week, April 23-28 in Anahiem, California. Students competed against nearly 17,000 participants. South students performed very well, placing 8 students in Finals (Approximately top 16 in their respective events). Of those 8, 7 went on to finish in the Top 10, with 2 students earning third place trophies. This was South's most successful year at ICDC.

Finalists were: Aleksa Wood, Emily Boring, Elena Goodenberger, Sophie Clarke, Vikas Mankala, Jake Hart, Kevin Hormann and Devyn Holbrook.

Trophy spots:
1. Devyn Holbrook, Third Place, Oregon Gardens Marketing Research Project
2. Sophie Clarke, Third Place, Principles of Finance
